A Little Change
There was a point when I didn't understand.
Life is meant to be so grand,
So why do I have a frown upon my face?
Life was a big race, and in that time, I lost my place.
I wandered off the track
To discover what I had lack.
I didn't have something I had before and that made me hallow.
My heart is all I have to follow.
There will always be things that are unknown,
But at least I found my answers by time alone.
I learned the hard way,
And I know this is some what cliché,
But life goes on.
You cannot have something that is gone.
Heartbreak is nothing new,
It just means there is something bigger waiting for you!
Don't fear a little change,
Though it is also a little strange.
Fight through it and find your pack.
Finish your race and never look back!

This Poems Story
My name's Angelie Quimbo and I'm thirteen years old. I was born in the Philippines, but later moved a few times to my home now in Nashville, TN. I attend H.G. Hill Middle Prep, in the seventh grade. Middle school was my main inspiration to write this poem - my experiences in a short, but what I hope, to be a powerful message. They say middle school is the point in time every young child transitions into a young adult. A lot can happen at this stage in one's life. Words should be heard! This, this poem was just a few stanzas of my middle school experience in regards to the lessons I have learned so far. I hope my poem has inspired many others to write as well!
