A Little LIzard

By

The little lizard told me:
please don't hold me.
I am so fragile
and so very agile.

Excuse me if I get into your house,
as I was just avoiding that mouse.

He was so scary,
so I was quite wary.

Have mercy on me please
after I get in by doing the squeeze.

You know I'm doing you some good
by eating the insects in your neighborhood.
