A Lost Boat

I am in a boat
Being tossed around
By a ragging current
Rudderless and helpless

I've lost sight
Of the horizon
All I see now
Are a myriad of mirages

The way lost
Hope abandoned
My fate left
To the mercy of the ocean

I see a seagull
Way over in the yonder
A fragment of a dream
Filters through my conscious mind

My mind awake
Starts waking my
Numb slumbering body
To move and take action

I look towards
The rising sun
Peeking over the horizon
Spreading the warmth of hope

My once cold body
Now filled with hope
Steers the boat
Towards the beckoning horizon
