A love that gave an betrayed

There was no subtly in your movements
Your words were clunky and ill fitting
But they made me smile and at ease
They provided a softening comfort.

Your flittering carelessness liberated and infuriated
Like a bird you were nervous, but free
I felt my fear encage you
As my past enslaved me

We sat in the rain and felt the breeze
Sharp numbness bit my senses
Is this what our world has to offer
Glorious moments of sadness and wonder

Our moments now go unshared
Images I grip are jaggard
Memories tangled with echoes of joy weighted by sorrow
Yet I still smile at your laugh

Although soaked by the chill of your ghost
I do not feel haunted, but obsessed
You took away what you first gave me
With love I gave you my last breath
