A Love That’s Lost

I looked into your eyes,
but I see nothing there.
What has happened to the love
that we used to share?

I reached out for your hand,
and it feels so cold.
I don't know what happened to the warmth,
That it used to hold.

I never thought a love
like ours would ever die.
I never thought you'd be the man that
could ever make me cry.

Our love used to be so special,
like a dream come true.
You were sent from the man up above
Because He knew you'd be the man I was soon to love.

You were the one for me,
and I was the one for you.
We were meant to be,
but now things have changed;
we have fallen apart.
It's like you're not the same person
who once touched my heart.

This Poems Story

As a young adult, I've been through a lot in my life, both good and bad, ups and downs. Every situation I've been through made me stronger. I've been writing since I was eight years old. Writing was my escape, and I always write from the heart about anything in my life that I went through. My family always believed in me, and since I was an only child, it was very important. I always want to make my family proud no matter what I do. In 2007, I lost someone who meant the world to me, my grandfather. In 2007, I stopped writing due to his death. Eight years later, here I am writing again because I always think of him. I dedicate my writings to him. Thank you, Papa. Forever in my heart, never forgotten. #godisgood
