A Lurking Friend
A girl that no one cared for,
Treading a dark path with no stop.
She was being followed by a dark figure,
Thought to be a monster.
She could hear it dragging its legs,
She could feel his eyes piercing through her.
The girl began to speed up her pace,
But so did the fellow creeping behind her.
The faster she ran forward,
The more swiftly he'd move.
There was a delay in her swiftness,
A branch which she had stumbled on.
She shrieked in deep dismay,
Only to find out,
The monster was there to help.
