A Man’s Confession

I'm not allowed to cry.

Why do they say that?
I wonder if we're not supposed to feel?
Women feel and women cry.

Yet I'm a man and that makes me different.
I can work for a lifetime
And I can fight in a war.
Still, I'm not allowed to cry.

Women cry, why can't a man?
I thought a man is supposed to be big and strong
And able to carry the toil of life on his shoulders.
He can fight and work and love and die-
But he can't cry.

That's odd.
Men fight and men kill
God's a Man
And as the rain falls
He cries.....
