A Miracle

By CharLes

A Miracle
Down in a meadow amongst thorns and briers
Was a radiant single blooming flower
The fragrance compelling, aroma fills the air
I had to own this flower, I hurried there
The smell drew me closer, I cut my way a path
Through thorns and briers reaching it at last
The flower, beautiful, color was so bright
Its glow and luster could light up the night
A slim tall stem, unyielding to the breeze
What resembled angels wings were golden leaves
When I reached to pluck, the dew did appear
And dripped upon my hand, as if to cry a tear
It put within my mind a radical new idea
Don't pluck the flower, let it always be here
Be sure it can grow, give room in this space
So its glow, beauty, put smiles on each face
So in determination, I cleared away the weeds
Now show all your beauty, and grow and seed
For one day in the future, the world can see
The beauty of a flower, that stole my heart and me
