A Missed Connection
I was lost in her beauty.
Yet she captured my soul.
My heart beats faster as she moves in close.
My knees get weak.
My hands go numb.
I'm too nervous to speak.
But I speak, and sound dumb.
Every word spilled has me pondering my impression.
With that look on her face I can see my regression.
Now what do I do?
I don't want to lose this chance.
So I serenade her with a song to display my romance.
Her face is awestruck.
I wonder if she likes my voice.
With the words that I'm singing are sung without choice.
As I gaze at her face I can only symphonize sweet.
As the words from my heart just spill at her feet.
And then I came back to....
Why was it only a fantasy?
A long thought in the 15 seconds as our eyes cross.
She keeps walking on & now I'm filled with regret of not approaching.
So I continue with a false dream as I keep on hoping...
For real love.
