A Mother’s Day

7 A.M. rise and shine
It’s the start of another long day
Your eyes are trying to realign
And the kids are all ready to play

1st cup of coffee, now you can move
Breakfast is down on the table
But just when you start to get in the groove
The little one becomes unstable

Quick with a feeding, he’s all squared away
Time now to get them to school
But wait now, what’s that you say?
You’re also their teacher, how cool…

So no break for now, the studies are on
Reading and writing and math
Right when it seems their focus is gone
You get them all on the right path

So much energy, so much demand
They seem to pull at you all day
Things might not work out just like you’ve planned
But you give it your best all the way

The kids are so lucky, they may not know now
How their Mom brings their whole world to life
But I’m well aware, and I can tell you how
See, I’m the lucky one to call you my Wife
