A Mother’s Prayer

I need a place where I can sit completely silent
Pray to God to bless the world due to all the violence
Stolen items from a store, none of dire need
Simply left on the ground caused by someone's greed
Bibles removed from hotel drawers and sold out on the street
For just enough money to get high with, as junkies collapse and bleed
Children from every culture hunger in the night
War is all around us as our enemies rebel and fight
The employed leave for jobs by morning, unemployed finally sleep
All deceased souls can now rest in peace
Jesus, we pray to you for salvation, a resolution to end the pain
And make it our responsibility for all of this to change
