A Need For An Ear
I’m in need of an ear
I’m confused , who am I supposed to talk to
How can I stay from thinking about leaving this earth
Doesn’t that say something, that I’ll rather be in the dirt
I’m hurt, I’m lost, who do I call?
Tuh! They only check in when I fall
Not when I’m standing tall
On my own
Just trying to grow
Like a flower in between two stones
Catastrophe all around me
Everybody trying to fight on different teams
Cause they all got they own dreams
But this weight of life is a ton
Raising my black son
In a world where the police greets him with a gun
Trapped in a society full of supremacists
Trying to trap our minds with these lying books of testaments
I’m over it!
But here I stay
I pray, to my God
Is listening up there
Because no one is down here
Do you see why I’m in need of an ear?
