A New Begining

I'm frozen in time.
Should I take the path to the left or right?
Or travel the unknown?
What shall it be?

I try to move along, but my load is so cumbersome.
My body aches with pain.
My heart is heavy,
my breath, almost still.

I plod slowly through the bramble bush,
suffering cuts to my body.
The weight on my limbs is heavy,
dragging me downward towards the earth.

I'm parched, thirsty for fulfillment,
but the earth is dry.
I press my lips together and suck hard
to bring the moisture within.

A faint drop fills my mouth,
enough to give me hope.
Ahead lies a new beginning, weightless,
free, loving, warm and embracing.
