A New Reason to Live

Deafeted by time, betrayed by emotions
He sat under a tree with a heart,
As blank as the clear sky.

The rain felt wet no more,
Light added to darkness.
And fellowship felt lonely,
He lost his soulmate who knew him closely.

He felt no thirst, no hunger.
Memories of their together past filled him up.
Hope in him melted, feelings went silent as death.
He sat destroyed,
when a sudden sound of weeping he heard.
In sheer disbelief he looked around.
A new born angel wrapped in white he found.
He stoop up and took her in his arms,
A true smile of eternal joy revived his lips.
"life is not unkind" - he thought,
As in the angel's forehead he gave a kiss.

After losing a close one,
He found a 'tiny one'for his love and care to give,
He found a new, a true new reason to live.
