A Night of Remembrance

I retreat to the sea, overwhelmed with dejection
Stemming from the countless reminders of rejection
I can hardly fathom what may have been the cause
Although it evidently failed to garner applause

I recall the betrayal that toppled my success
Whose conspiring nature inflicted great stress
I elect to embrace sadness and timelessly sob
Following the unfortunate loss of my job

I gaze below at an elegant aquatic creature
Whose reassurance reminds me of a sanguine teacher
This being rises my spirits in strange manner
Repetitively flaunting an optimistic banner

I declare the experience a fragment of hope
Which thrusts open the gateway for superlative scope
I alter direction and caper towards the city
Whose welcoming lights appear undeniably pretty

Such is the nature of my mission
To benefit society and exhibit ambition
