A Note On Twenty-First Century Love

Twenty-first century love
Is a love so worldly that
Most people think it the world.
Twenty-first century love
Is a love evolved by a people
Blinded by the constructs of a temporary world.
The greedy are those who
Mindlessly hoard the paper who's value would
Vanish with the touch of a flame.
The sad are those who
Obsessively chase happiness in a world
That never promised happy endings.
The broken-hearted are those who
Naively trust the same people
Who's own heart were never mended.
For what are people
But creatures seeking perfect lives
In an imperfect world?
Twenty-first century love
Is a love inflicting every person.
Twenty-first century love
Does not belong only to the twenty-first century
But to the beginning and ending
Of a type of love that will never cease to exist.
