An Ode To The Heartbroken

I hope that you miss me so much on some nights that you cannot fall asleep.
That maybe you toss and turn and pick up for phone and start dialing my number, I know it won't be in your contacts but it's memorized somewhere in your head.
Hopefully you get drunk and call her by my name.
I can only hope that you still think about me everyday.
Or, every other day.
Do you wish you hadn't let me go so easily?
Do you still have my t-shirt?
I know it won't smell like me anymore, but you'll always think that it does.
Do you wonder how I am? If I've found love?
Do you hope that I haven't?
I hope that you miss me, and that you miss me with ever fiber of your being.
Maybe you don't.

But I owe it to myself to quit living in a world of maybes- I deserve so much more.

I need to quit chasing a ghost, god knows that I deserve so much more.

This Poems Story

This is a very old poem I had found in the depths of a year old notebook- while it isn't very strong structurally, I believe it can recognized by anyone that's been heartbroken.
