A Patriotic Fly

Oh, to be a free-roaming fly
On the Fourth of July!
To land on piping-hot pizza,
All covered with spicy red meatsa!

Or to sip from a brunette's blueberry tea
Throughout the night entirely for free!
You may wonder if at times the humans pitch a fit,
And yes, there are days when I nearly get hit!

But the pursuit of life, liberty and food is a must:
Without all three I would surely turn to dust.
So next time a true-blooded American fly you spy
Show tolerance please, or else I might surely die!
