A Place to Sit

How many lives I've watched,
How many stories I've heard
Through sunny days as beautiful as Heaven itself...
To stormy days that no one takes credit for.
I stand.
I see, I hear, I feel.
Yet I remain unrecognized.
I have witnessed the beauty of one giving himself
To another in heart, in soul, in life.
I have felt the tragedy of losing one, only to be consoled by many.
I have comforted those who seek to rally their mind
Against unfortunate decision.
I have given solace to those seeking their enlightenment;
I have even felt the anguish of those who have nothing left but me.
I will be here for you, if you need me because...
I stand.
An interesting life for a park bench, indeed.
