A Place to Sleep
I feel the shaking deep in my soul,
When the heavy thunder starts to roll.
With the bright flash of a lightning strike,
I come to realize that there will be no sleep tonight.
Dreams of drowning haunt my brain,
As I watch it slowly start to rain.
Dreams of falling follow me around,
As I search for a place where there is no sound.
A place to ease my mind is what I seek,
Maybe then I can finally sleep,
A sleep that does not simply come and go,
But one in which no fear or sadness will ever show.
So until I finally find that place,
My fears and demons I’ll continue to face,
As I press on in search of that peaceful day,
Awake and fighting I shall stay.
