A Poem For My Unborn Child

I felt your little foot today for the first official time
The doctor's said you'd never come but there you are, you're fine.
Your Dad and I weren't ready but then whoever is?
He can't wait to meet you and look into eyes like his
We may not have a lot of money but we will be just fine
you will always have what you need and love from this heart of mine.
I promise to be the best, mother I can be
after all it was the best, that was there to raise me
I wish your grandma was here, to feel you kick your little feet
but she watches us from heaven and she doesn't miss a beat
I can't wait for your Dad and I to take you to the zoo
where you can see your first giraffe and your first kangaroo
With picnics in the park in store and learning abc's
I can't wait til you're in this world and here to stay with me
I love you my little one I can't wait for you to come
I will love you with all my heart whether you're my daughter or my son
