A Portrait

By Atlas

For all my life I've drifted in blues
Blue sky, blue thoughts, blue words
Everything was a monotonous emotion
Of monochromatic tainted aquamarine
Then an artist came along
He brought out a brush of vivid tones
And painted my world in yellows and greens
Reds, purples, but his favorite was pink
The artist painted a mural unspoken of
A work of neon on a lost blue canvas
But he did not paint my world
For he painted the canvas for she.
And left me in the background
