A Prayer to the Sun

A Prayer to the Sun

O sun! in the sky thou lordly reign
Father thou birds, beasts and men.
Tirel'ss night and day, day and night
Thou make whole world so bright
By dazzling light of thy one sight.
Thou dwell at such a dizzy height.
Thatch on abyss by bosom’s heat
Thence flow all breath and might.
Hence receive worships of man
Brightest thou all astral bodies can.
To outstrip thee, there's rival none.
But, thou had left a nook in dark
Where in dark the beast doth lurk.
Haply, forgot to light man's heart?
