A Privileged Desire

Rest my weary mind
Enslaved in subdued arrangements
Whilst the flames within me drown.

Who am I if not the one to burn
Through desires with the drive of feet
That trample on my soul?
Hailstones melt amongst my heavy heart.

In flight my wings soar greater
Than the corporate beast
That clips and clamps them down,
A featherless dove was once a flourished eagle.

Return to me the fire and the blood,
The creation of a body and soul
That lives and wakes in dreams.

A lion heart with rabbit eyes
I take back wthat which is truly mine
- I can.
