A Reason to Stay

I feel like I’m slowly slipping away.
My soul is ready to leave these earthly bounds and my body is ready to rest.
As I begin to close my eyes I see you.
I don’t see you clearly, but I see your silhouette…

Staring at you brings me back down to earth.
Now I crave to lay in your arms.
I crave to remain here.
I beg my soul to let me stay.
I beg my body to rest later.

As the two merge again and I see you clearly.
I silently pray that being in your arms will heal me.
Because I don’t want to regret leaving my peace to be with you.
