A Ride To Safety

Riding all out for safety ahead
Shots fired out one lays dead.
Angry warparty has Cowboys on the run.
Trying desperately to stay alive using guns.
There is safety ahead one remembers.
As they make a mad dash for the timbers.
In the woods they will try to make a stand.
They will fight down to the last man.
But maybe in the woods they might get away.
To survive and make it another day.
The timbers offer sanctuary from the fight.
A mad dash almost there just in sight
In the woods They can make a stand a last resort.
With hopes that the army will be out on patrols from the fort.
If they can hold out reinforcements would change the tide.
For the timber they make a mad dash a hell of a ride.
Story ends here Will they make it out of this hopeless situation.
I leave it entirely up to you and your imagination.
