A Rose Like Me
I stand patiently, armed with defenses
Boundaries, freewill and boldness,
are my thorns; protection and confidence
Safe with my thorns, I find solace
My fragrant character enticing all
My skin, like the silky petal
I raise my face to the skies, standing tall
with beauty that is natural
I stand patiently in contemplation,
Wondering if I wait in vain
For one, who beholding thorns won't shun,
Nor will he render my heart in pain
Is there one who is so worthy out there?
Who is kind, gentle and sincere?
Possessing a passion that we can share?
So I can blossom with out fear?
I stand patiently in my surroundings
Complete in myself with protection
My innocence safe whatever life brings
I bravely bloom with perfection
