A silent cry

Lay shattered were her broken dreams,
As she heard the bone chilling cries,
She let the tears slip down her face,
She knew it was time.

Lay shattered were all her beliefs,
As she saw the gates being closed,
There was no going back,
Just the dread of being lost .

Bloods of thousands adorned the ground,
She wished hers were not amongst the crowd.
As she watched dawn break far from her homeland,
She tried to search for them.

A gun went out,
Trickling of blood and a searing pain through her chest,
Reaching out she tried to grab their hands
She was met with cold, empty space.

“Peace” is all she could say,
She silently cried before she fell,
Cold, limp and very much dead.
