A Simple, Golden Bell
A bell. A Simple Golden Bell.
My bell, stuck in a cage.
It's like being in hell, but I mean-
We can't hide our rage, our unhappiness
Why can't it just be easy?
Why can't it just flow?
Like the peaceful sunsets on the beaches
With the calm water.
But who would say life was to be easy?
What is the purpose?
Some say there's no point,
That's it's all hopeless
But there's always a tiny spark,
A spark of life and love and happiness
Like the golden bell in a cage
Every once in a while it's let out-
It rings in happiness,
But soon has to go back to its cage
Back to unhappiness
The bell waits, waits, and waits-
Praying for someone to let her out.
To let her be free
And happy and ringing in excitement
With scratches from the long journey
But it think it will make it
It will get better, but it is only a bell.
A Simple, Golden bell.
