A Single Snowflake’s Dream

One cold night, wintery clouds ever slow,
In the silence of dark, all else asleep,
Slowly drifting falls white tears eerie glow,
Dancing gracefully upon the wind, they leap.

A single snowflake, unremarkable.
In muted silence of snowfall, it hopes
To have and live a life of worth full.
An impossible wish, sadly, it copes.

Though it knows, from the magic of Most High,
A frozen phoenix, again it shall rise,
And in essence, will truly never die.
From mist, to rain, to snow, again it flies.

Unremarkable a snowflake may be,
Much longer it will live than you or me
