A Small Town in Maine

Seeing the sun just peer through
the dense fog over the ocean,
It seems as though you could walk to heaven
or cut the mist with a knife.
The moist, cold air clinging to my skin.

In the distance, the foghorn awoke,
breaking through the noise
of the waves,
the rain of last night caused
dark, slimy seaweed to wash up on shore.
