A Smile To Hide A Lonely Soul

By Erdilla

All day, I hide behind a smile,

It always gets old after a while.

But I need to force it on, for it protects my lonely soul.

For if my smile leaves, the truth will be set high on a pedestal.

The truth that I rot inside, feeling like a nobody, a fool,

The truth that I hide and harbor a lonely soul.
