A solider in the woods

DEEP in the woods of war, I saw a solider singing a song of peace
His legs were broken; his blood was all around him
Tears were in his eyes, but his voice was like a sweet breeze
Fear of loneliness but still the joy of pride was in his heart
A gun was on his shoulder and a rose in his hand, was singing the song for the peace of his own land
Tears were streaming down his cheeks, but he could not stop singing because the song was about peace in the world
Sorrow was in his heart because he knew that he was last
He had to choose a way, back to home or the place where all the legends go
It could be the last hour of his life or the starting of his new life
Maybe a beautiful life waiting for him or a deathful scene
