A SONG IN THE BREAK
The workers sing to dumb radio song,
and Delilah (newbie) sings along...
Factory workers, factory ways -
a lot to grasp along the way.
Delilah would rather be at the loom -
Dotty Delilah, dumber than tune.

Each weekday morning in the nineteen-fifties, radio music used to blare out to factory workers in Britain. They weren't listening during their break like in my poem, but listened in work time, with the fast music increasing productivity.
