A Sonnet for the Muses

Oh my dear and fair hearted Lady Muses Nine
Raise my pen to weave your written words of love
Letting the modest moon cast like silver shine
Upon my heart as stars do spark from above

Oh Lady Muses Nine, direct my soul to sing
And with your enthralling lullaby do lead me
To chase the waning moon on its idle swing
From which I love but love I do chastely

Oh Lady Muses Nine, please answer my soulful plea
Send down on winged-feet a rhythmical beat
That inspires celestial bliss for all to see
As dreams echo to high heights crashing in repeat

Lady Muses Nine, I continue to plead although unworthy I be
Until the time my thread be cut by decree of Sisters Three
