A Son\'s Promise
Anxious, I sit in the awaiting room surrounded by nothing but wallsScreams abroad from distance walls
Newborn babies, I hear cry
My phone is awaiting that major call
Pacing up and down these busy halls
Exciting news ring my phone
A familiar voice tells me the baby's was born, but our mother has gone home
Devasted, I dropped my phone
Tears of sorrow burning my eyes
There is no time to grieve
Unexcepted emotions I can't believe
My body was trembling with fears,
Running into my mother's room
Quiet and still, she laid
My baby brother, bare on her breast
Complications from his birth put mother down for an eternal rest
For now, we must say goodbye...
One day, we will join you through heavens doors
But for now, I must make you proud
Insure the care of your precious little boy
Strongly, I will entwine a brotherly bond
A love promised to the end of time
Key Words : Birth, gone home, promise
