A Soul Adrift

I sail a ship of sorrow, adrift through silent nights.
I search for something lost in life; my love, my guiding light.
I wish a star could help me past this dark and dreadful time,
Beyond the lost horizon where I dream that you're still mine.

Beneath the fog and fury seen, through my bloodshot eyes,
This sea that I sail upon was formed from tears I've cried.
To close my mind on memories is what I dare not do,
For if I see the sun once more, I'll share my life with you.
