A Speaker Who Obtained High Honor

Despite not knowing much about my early life as a child,
I still accomplished many great things and was never reviled.
In my prime,
I was the greatest, most brilliant dramatist of all time.
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.

I grew up in Stratford-Upon-Avon,
And Was called -the Bard of -Avon.
On April 23, 1564, I was born.
The third of eight children they did adore.
My father, who was John,
Was a remarkable merchant,
Not a con,
He dealt with wool,
And farming products in full.
My father was confident, had many civic positions
Helped his children with many hard decisions.
A free education we did obtain,
Thank goodness for my dad’s smart brain.
To Anne Hathaway I was wed,
At the age of 18, in 1582, then we thought ahead.
We had three children, between 1582 and 1585
A single, Susanna, and twins, Hamnet and Judith.
At 11 years old, sadly, Hamnet did not survive.
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.

Being a playwright and an actor
Twas truly a very great factor.
The accomplished name, “Greatest Dramatist of all time,”
Showed how well I was really able to rhyme.
Seven years of my life, called the lost years,
Tragically, just disappeared.
I was a very important managing partner,
Of Lord Chamberlains company of players,
The Globe theater in 1599, I was the creater,
Sadly, in 1613, it was destroyed by a fire
However, I was still able to aquire
The two largest houses in which I lived
For my family, which were beloved.
A Globe theater again was created
However, I was very much frustrated
Because in 1642, it was closed
And then, by the puritans, it was bulldozed.
All theaters were unholy to them
But to me, my theater was a gem.
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.

From 1588 to 1613,
I wrote many plays to be seen.
Between 1593 and 1594,
I published two narrative poems, that I hoped were not a bore.
These of which were dedicated to the Earl of South Hampton.
The years 1592 and 1601 were busy and a lot of fun.
I eagerly wrote poems, sonnets, and dramatic plays,
Of conflict, corruption, ambition, good, evil, and human pains,
Of hatred, human suffering, and comedies,
Because I wrote so often,
Literary devices became a breeze.
Alliterations, couplets, and onomatopeias
Repetition, metaphors, hyperboles, and similies
These I wrote with ease.
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.

Holy Trinity Church was my burial site
And engraved on the headstone in bright white
Stated;
“Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbear
To dig the dust enclosed here.
Blessed be the man that spares these stones,
And cursed be he that moves my bones."
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.

Over these years
My plays have brought much joy and tears
My plays are still written
And performed.
Which many people do adore.
Overall I gained much fame
And William Shakespeare was my name.
Playwright, poet, writer, actor
A speaker that obtained high honor.
