A Special Place

Near a quiet, peaceful inlet
Down the hill beyond my door,
There's a haven which awaits me,
There my spirits to restore.

In the evening, when I'm weary
And my life seems full of care,
I hasten to my secret harbor,
Knowing rest attends me there.

Green the boughs which hover o'er me
Soft the moss beneath my feet.
Sweet the scents of Mother Nature
These alone make life replete.

Scarlet are my trees in Autumn,
Master Painter, Splendid Art.
Soon the leaves will pave the pathway
Feathered friends will then depart.

White the snows of winter magic
Covering the earth laid bare
Spring will come and then my haven
Blooms again with tender care.

Gift that love created for thee.
Molded gently, meant to share.
This is home as God intended
Eden can be anywhere.
