A Story of a Dog and His Human

I take a walk and look around.
Seems my life is crashing down.
Friends are gone, I'm all alone.
Won't someone throw me a bone?
I need some help.
It's hard the breath, with all this world surrounding me.
Not one person by my side, I'm all alone on this ride.
I stop and inhale a cold winters chill
as I wonder when will be my next meal.
I curl up at a park
To take a rest in the in the dark.
Then a sound from around a tree
Wakes me up and startles me!
I see a soul full of sadness like mine.
Stepping out from behind the pine.
A familiar face I know all too well.
Living in a personal hell.
I took a chance to investigate.
Oh, this had to be by fate.
Now I have a friend just like me
Sleeping beside me by our tree.
Was it he who rescued me?
or was it I who saved he?
