A stress-filled mind

Bubbling with nowhere
to hide
Pouring over
into every stride
Wishing for once
it would subside
Heartfelt meaning
and wishful thinking
Not enough
Not ever enough
Not enough
Not ever enough
Trapped and suffocating
Relentlessly remembering
Care-filled thoughts
Drowned out by wistful coughs
A frightened mind left with a kiss
Hope to take her away
She reminisced
no more remained
Her thoughts dismissed
For far too much had been stripped
And her lungs
For they’d been ripped
Her hope had been lost
And her soul left adrift
Peace all at once
Left amidst the wreckage
Trust was scattered
nothing more than a flatterers cry
