A Stuffy Nose
My heart drills for a way to explode out of my chest.
My hands uncontrollably shake--
They just may tear off.
Drowning in sweat,
I cross swords and dodge bullets
Battling for treasured air.
My leg violently begins to hop up and down
Like a possessed, man-eating kangaroo.
It's then I get this urge to scratch and peel off my skin,
Digging and digging until I can find the pause button
To this ripping sensation that has conquered my body.
It laughs at me and mocks me,
So I shout back and strangle it to death,
Beating it senseless 'til it gives me my breath.
