A Subconscious Thought

I met you at the tail end of Summer 2016,
Everyone told me how much I'd yearn for you,
You lived up to everything I was told,
You were a seemingly kind boy who felt for others,
You were a talented artist,
You had high hopes of getting into your college of choice,
Your interest was graphic design,

Then the once warm and bright boy turned cold,
Such as the weather did,
I didn't see you as often,
But I was left unfazed and without care,
When I did see you, you antagonized me,
Always picking and poking, targeting me,
But I didn't see you much,

As the weather got warmer, so did you,
Sweeter, flirty, kind just as I had met you,
The weather has changed, but you're still an amazing artist,
Only now, you've been accepted into your college of choice,

I went through months without you,
Barely noticing your absence,
Now, you're tattooed into my subconscious,
Your absence scorches my soul,
Your presence mesmerizes it,

It's been months and you have yet to leave my head,
I never knew that a boy with gorgeous eyes and a golden heart,
Could make a home in my mind.
