A Summer’s Day

The sun shines
through my window,
waking me up.
Brightly, brilliantly.
Wishing summer
never ended.
The sun darkens
my tanned skin,
heating my body.
Intensely, hotly.
Feeling the
sweat drip.
The sun burns
my sandy feet,
watching waves race.
Repeatedly, smoothly.
Listening to the
splash of water.
The sun fades
from the sky,
ending my day.
Slowly, quietly.
Waiting for the
next to come.
Waiting…
simply waiting.
