A Tale of Two Citites

There lies a city for the battered and broken
another city for the dreamers and leaders.
There stretches a path between.
There walks a few lonely travelers and
nomads wandering about;
not broken enough to be healed.
not victorious enough to be praised.
They never sleep on the same side of the bed.

There stretches a path between the two cities
here lives the broken dreamers and corrupted leaders
sifting through rice for specs of gold and
sifting their gold for ounces of truth.
listening too closely to the world around them.
looking for anything to earn the right into one gate
or the other
On the road between two cities.
