A Thunderous Lullaby

I fell asleep to a pleasing sound
I believe it was the rain.
Water fell in binaural beats,
Which were pleasing to my brain.

The sound stalled to a sudden rest,
And much to my disdain,
The thunder ceased to rumble.
Only cloudy thoughts remained.

Now that I've opened up my eyes...
A peace I can't explain
Has overwhelmed my tired soul.
My strength I did regain.

But, lo! I open up my ears
To an incessant chain.
The thunderstorm I cherish so
Continues its refrain.
