A Time Now Past

I have but one heart
One mind and two arms
Neither in me or on me.

I have one heart(yours?) in a jar
It floats unassisted suspended in a time
When love was all you knew (and had to know).

I have one mind (one-half of a whole)
Lost in the past, it wanders the abandoned
Catacombs of a once splendid city
Now lost to the ages of time.

I have two arms (meant for hugging and squeezing)
That reach out for someone who is no longer there
Clinging to a memory of a long forgotten dream.

I have one heart, one mind,
And two arms.
Spare parts, missing pieces,
missing links to a time when everything was
And nothing hurt.
