A Time Of Reason

I have come to an age where time and reason
stare each other down until dark
The door locks, but the candles burn
on through the night
Countless lives are drawn out of the eyes of reason
by the look of time who knows no sleep
The only soul who has seen the birth of beginning
and the many deaths of end
I have been to a place
where time is a thing of the past
The futures I have seen are events I am living
all at once and woven by logic
Consumed by measure and spewed forth
onto the plane of understanding as we slip
and fall into conditioned ignorance
I am in the middle of a life
created from something by no one
We have died so that we can live
and we have lived so that we can die
We are the absence of reason
in a time of understanding logic
