A Time to Stop

By

How strange it is
The streets are bare
Silence in the city
So clean the air

I watch the stats
How many have died?
So surreal are the days
Sometimes I have cried

Time to ponder
The warnings we read
Eight billion people we are
So many more to clothe and feed

Mass production, consumption and waste
Without notice to the dangers we create
And now a pandemic encompasses the Earth
Can humanity relate?

We are in this together
Connected as one
Will we survive as a planet?
Or are we soon to be done?
