A Tree

Swing on my branches
Lay upon my bark
Partake of this beautiful tree
In the park
Climb up my stem or eat of my fruit
Unlike others I have a sturdy root
Lay under my shade
Take a rest on my land
When you are weary
I'll give you a hand

This Poems Story

Being ten years old, I have much pride in this poem. Originally I wrote this poem for my father. My grandmother read it and knew that I should share it with others. Let me tell you what inspired me to write this poem. I was at my friend's house when I noticed a large tree in their backyard. Sunlight broke through it's leaves and it's sturdy bark withstood all forces. As I stared upon this tree, I began to write. Soon I created this poem I call "A Tree."
